When her brother is convicted of the brutal rape and murder of a schoolgirl and her mother passes away suddenly, Lee Jung-joo (Park Eun-bin) is left reeling. Well-respected Judge Yoo Myung-hee (Kim Hae-sook) decides to take her under her wing and helps her to become a well-respected and admired judge in her own right.
Ten years later, an unrelated case propels her back in time to her brother, Choi Kyung-ho’s (Ji Seung-hyun) case, where she soon finds herself questioning his motives, and his guilt. She launches an investigation, along with long-time friend prosecutor Do Han-joon (Kim Hyeong-gyoo) and upstanding and uncompromising Judge Sah Eui-hyeon (Yeon Woo-jin) to find out the truth, which leads to some surprising consequences for everyone involved.
