Set within the corridors of power, Money Game is a perfectly-constructed, brilliantly executed and realistic portrayal of the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to shape economic and financial policy. The elaborate game begins with the sale of Jungin Bank – an institution that holds one third of all government shares – to an overseas investment company Bahama.
Following the discovery that the numbers have been distorted in favour of the sale, Finance Bureau Chief Chae Yi-hun (Goo Soo), supported by genius economic analyst Lee Hye-joon (Shim Eun-kyung), soon find themselves in direct opposition to the Chairman of Finance, Ministry of Economy and Finance Heo Jae (Lee Sung-min) who is determined to reach the top by whatever means necessary. The introduction of the overseas investor, led by Eugene Han (Yoo Teo) adds a dimension of colour and vibrancy to the events as they unfold, with Yoo Teo’s breathtaking and undeniably brilliant depiction of his complicated character – the shrewd and ruthless, yet vulnerable Eugene Han.
