Pachinko

Pachinko shifts between the Japanese occupation of South Korea and 1980s South Korea, unravelling the life, struggles and hardships faced by Kim Sun-ja (Youn Yuh-jung). Sun-ja’s life changes drastically when she meets successful businessman Koh Han-su (Lee Min-ho) and falls hopelessly in love. However, when things go awry, to preserve her honour she marries protestant minister Baek Isak (Steve Sanghyun Noh) and settles with him in Japan, where she needs to quickly adapt to being an outsider in a foreign land.

In the present day, Sun-ja is grandmother to ambitious Solomon Baek (Jin Ha) who will stop at nothing to achieve his dreams.

Based on the novel of the same name by Min Jin Lee.
