Believing that her boyfriend Lee Jang-woo (So Ji-sub) has died in combat, Soo-yeon (Kim Ha-neul) develops a relationship with Shin Tae-ho (Yoon Kye-sang), deciding to marry him to put her painful past behind her. On the eve of her wedding, Jang-woo reappears revealing that the death in combat notice was a mistake, but before they have an opportunity to resolve anything, they are thrown into the turmoil of the Korean War.
