The Crowned Clown

To restore order to his crumbling empire and avoid being assassinated, King Yi-heon (Yeo Jin-goo) finds someone who looks identical to take his place – a clown performer that has previously played the part of the King.

With the help of the Chief Royal Secretary Haksan (Kim Sang-kyung) and Eunuch Jo (Jang Gwang) he manages to pull it off – but can he fool the Queen (Lee Se-young)?

Yeo Jin-goo is absolutely exceptional in this dual character role, executing the part of the abrasive, pompous and arrogant King and the gentle, quiet and playful clown Haseon to the extent that at times you may question if there are in fact two different characters.
